The attuned viewer should not confuse Disregard with its (older) sister project Disregard the Vampire – A Mike Messier Documentary (2017). While both efforts are sourced from the same raw footage, Disregard is its own entity. During the “pandemic era”, Mike Messier, Tim Labonte of Stand Still Pictures, and composer Tony Caramadre of Phattones Studios revisited previously “disregarded” narrative footage to develop this exciting new “silent film with score” presentation. The most vital creative decision was to forgo the original narrative storyline which was compromised due to “unforeseen circumstances” in favor of a new vision based on what was actually filmed.
