Here is the Award Winning Teaser of the doc (the teaser itself won a nice award from Canada’s Yes!, Let’s Make a Movie Film Festival )
The poster for the film has also been doing well itself, receiving accolades from both MedFF and Altff .
Mike and co-producer/co-editor Tim Labonte of Stand Still Pictures intend to be in attendance for the screening and several of the festival’s screenings and events. There will be opportunities for cast, crew, friends and potential fans to discuss the doc and Mike’s future plans for the project’s fate.
“It’s a great honor to premiere our doc in North America at The Shawna Shea Memorial Film Festival”, says Mike. “Skip Shea knows very well the struggles and successes of an independent filmmaker, and this festival is the perfect place to share the lessons learned and emotions experienced with our narrative/documentary hybrid. Perhaps by the end of the day, it will all be in perspective, both for the audience and myself.”

The SSFF is the major fundraiser for the Shawna E Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Our mission is to support young people, especially women, in filmmaking, performance arts and other artistic and cultural endeavors through financial assistance, collaborative fellowships, mentoring and educational opportunities. We established the Foundation in memory of Shawna, a creative and artistic young woman who lost her life too soon and we strive to sustain her legacy of encouraging young people who live in the margins of society and yet have dreams and aspirations in the fields of film and performance arts.
