Good evening. This year our annual screenplay competition received 433 entries (hard copy and online). From these, 31 have been  selected as semi-finalists by our international team of adjudicators. After one last review, we will select the final award winners (to be announced by October 30th).

All of the semi-finalists listed above will receive a certificate as an acknowledgment  by our judges of their work.

Additionally, each will be given a RIIFF Day Pass to our next film festival, August 9-14, 2016, this will provide them full

access to all films on any given day during the event. The value of the pass is $50.
Additionally, if your screenplay was not on this list, I would like to offer as our thanks for your entry, a ticket to our Opening Night Celebration at next year’s Festival (Tuesday, August 9, 2016), a $15 value plus a reduced filmmaker rate (25% off the regular price) for ScriptBiz 2016, our popular screenwriter workshop and pitch program.

That latter event will take place on Friday, August 12, 2016.
