Mike Messier is happy to report that his feature length film screenplay American Luchador: The Dream of Lobo Fuego has been named a finalist in the FILM LOT FILM CLUB AUSTRALIA screenplay competition. Updates on all categories of the film competition can be found on the film festival’s website here: FILM LOT Australia

Mike’s official statement reads, “my feature film screenplay American Luchador: The Dream of Lobo Fuego has been named a Finalist by ‘Film Lot’ The Film Club Australia . This is a scripted I started a long time ago and even work-shopped with my students in my C.O.R.E. A.C.T.I.N.G. classes back in Rhodywood Providence years ago. However, I only got so far in the page count. In the last 5 months or so , I revisited the script and got it from only 38 pages to 110 pages in about six weeks. Most importantly, I added several elements and characters, including a more developed series of antagonists and a romantic interest for Lobo Fuego (Fire Wolf). I also added elements that would lend the script to a sequel. Thanks to my friends Anne Murray Ā and Angelo DiSipio Ā for their proof-reading, feedback and encouragement in this rewrite process. – MIKE MESSIER

Mike also says that the screenplay would would well for an animated feature film and/or a graphic novel translation.
